(1) Reduce pressure

       Reducing the pressure can reduce the friction force per unit area. The pressure can be reduced by increasing the contact surface and reducing the load. For example: to improve the straightness of the rail surface and refine the surface roughness, can increase the actual contact area, appropriately widen the length of the rail surface and lengthen the movable rail, but also increase the contact surface, but must be with the support of the dynamic rail The stiffness adapts. Otherwise, after being loaded, the deformation is large, the contact is uneven, and the local pressure is increased. The guide rail, although wide, is not long. In addition, the lengthening and widening of the guide rails will increase the technical difficulties, and the relief of the guide rails may also be unloaded.


(2) reduce the coefficient of friction

       If the rolling friction pair is used instead of the sliding friction pair, the friction coefficient is greatly reduced and the wear can be greatly reduced, but it is currently used less in stone machinery. In the sliding pair, the correct choice of lubricating oil makes the frictional property a mixing coefficient, which also reduces the friction coefficient. Also pay attention to keep the lubricating oil clean. Unclean lubricating oil will lead to excessive abrasive wear. Circulating lubrication can not only ensure enough lubricating oil but also cooling and flushing. In order to make the lubricant evenly distributed on the rail surface and ensure sufficient lubrication effect, oil grooves must be opened on the surface of the rail. The correct choice of viscosity of the lubricant can effectively reduce the friction coefficient. The viscosity of the guide rail lubricant can be selected according to the working conditions and lubrication method of the guide rail. For example: high load (<0.1MPa pressure), middle and small stone mechanical feed guide with medium speed, 20# mechanical oil can be used; medium load (Pressure>0.2MPa)Middle and low-speed mechanical guides (most of the mechanical feed guides belong to this condition) can use 30# mechanical oil or 40# mechanical oil; low-speed guide of heavy machinery (pressure >0.4MPa), available 40 #, 50 # or 70 # mechanical oil; guide rails that are easily contaminated by dirt, should use lower viscosity lubricating oil to prevent dirt accumulation and damage the guide rail.

(3) Correct selection of friction pair materials and heat treatment

       Appropriate choice of materials for the friction pair can reduce the friction coefficient, and heat treatment can improve the wear resistance.

(4) Strengthen protection

       Strengthening protection is an effective measure to improve the wear resistance of the friction pair. It can prevent dust, abrasive swarf, water mist, etc. from entering the friction pair. One of the important ways to prevent or reduce the wear of the guide rail is to protect the guide rail. According to statistics, the guide rails with reliable protection devices can reduce the wear amount of the exposed guide rails by about 60%. When designing and selecting guards for guide rails, the following requirements should be taken into account: It is desirable to close the guide rails and isolate them from various abrasives; if they cannot be closed, guards should be able to remove dust from the guide rails more thoroughly. Excluded to prevent entry into the friction pair; the device should have the ability to prevent corrosion of the cooling liquid; in the structure should be easy to load and unload to ensure the convenience of cleaning guide rail, but also have a certain strength and rigidity, especially the guide rail protection device for heavy machinery should be note. In addition, factors such as ease of manufacture, low cost, long life, and attractive appearance are also considered. Several common methods of protection are now described.

Scraper

       This method can scrape dust that falls on the rails and is an indirect protection device.

Cover type

       Most of the cover-type guards fix the cover at both ends of the movable rail. When the table moves, the cover covers the exposed rail surface to prevent chips from falling on the rail surface. Such devices are usually scraped. Plate guards are used at the same time.

Retractable

       When the movable rail is moved to the limit position, the protective plate on one side is fully opened, and the other side is completely overlapped. This device can completely close the rail surface, there is also a rubber or plastic pad between the two cover plates, and therefore reliable protection. There is also an accordion type telescopic protective device, which is generally made of leather, canvas or plastic (artificial leather). The structure is relatively simple, and the protective effect is good, but it is easy to damage and has a short life and high cost.
